How do you take care of handmade jewellery?
Store your jewellery in the cloth bag provided. For added protection, store them in your jewellery boxes.
Copper / Brass may tarnish over time, which is natural due to the chemical reaction between metal and oxygen. Store them carefully.
Generally, jewellery should not be put on while washing, applying makeup, hair spray, gels, lotions or perfume. Try not to wear your jewellery while swimming or showering.
Avoid piling up your jewellery when storing it.
What is handmade jewellery called?
Handmade jewellery is known as hand-assembled jewellery. It’s a great way to offer unique and personalized jewellery at an affordable price. This usually involves creating necklaces, earrings, and bracelets from pre-made charms, chain and jewellery findings.
How can I tell if the jewellery is handmade?
Handmade jewellery is typically not identical to other pieces of the same design or collection. It is very rare to find an identical matching set of earrings. If the piece has been hammered or a texture is present, usually there are slight variations that the eye can pick up. This isn’t so with manufactured jewellery.
Why should you buy handmade jewellery?
When you buy handmade jewellery, the people making those items love what they do. Handmade items will have a lot more time, effort, and love put into their making than anything you can buy that was mass-produced.
Why is handmade jewellery not cheap?
Research, sourcing of specific stones, beads, cords, findings and other materials consume a lot of time. The pieces are put together after visual interpretation. Material is sourced at a higher price as bulk buying is not involved. Overhead costs are involved, which do not make it to the pricing board.
Why is Handmade unique?
Handmade is not mass produced. Each item is a unique display of craftsmanship. Each has their own character that is to be admired. When you buy handmade, you are buying a commitment of authenticity, a guarantee that no other piece will ever be the same.
